My name is Shifali Robinson. Welcome to the parts of me that don't make it onto LinkedIn.

LinkedIn can tell you what I do. This is for everything that doesn't quite fit into a résumé.

Last year handed me a few unexpected lemons. When that happens, you're left wondering what to actually do with them. I decided the best way forward was to take an easy year.

It wasn't exactly a year of doing nothing. I travelled through parts of Northeast India I had never experienced before. That trip set the tone for the rest of the year. I came home wanting to keep exploring, just in different ways.

I learned the basics of sign language. Picked up badminton. Took a card game from an idea to a physical prototype. Taught myself a handful of AI tools. Started a small, made up university on Instagram where we discuss everyday things, and eventually gave it a website too. I reconnected with old friends, made new ones, rediscovered the joy of reading, and found time for a few things I'd been meaning to learn.

And that is really what this website is about.

A résumé is good at telling you where someone has worked and what they have done. It is also quite good at getting you through an ATS scan, assuming you've managed to include the right keywords. But a quiet year on paper doesn't necessarily mean a quiet year in life. Sometimes there is a lot happening that simply doesn't have a job title.

So this is my little corner of the internet for those things. The stories that don't quite belong on LinkedIn, but still feel like part of the picture.
